Introduction

SmarTap allows you to connect faster than ever. SmarTap is a small NFC tag that can be placed at the back of your phone. It lets you share your contact info, social media profiles, blogs and more with anyone in just a tap. To share a profile simply tap the NFC tag to a phone having NFC or let anyone scan your in-app QR code. Make sure Android phones have NFC turned on in settings. Others won’t need the app or a SmarTap to receive your information.

Your profile is customizable on the app, this is where you’ll add, remove and update all of your links, bio and profile picture. SmarTap is very easy to use and versatile. You can also use SmarTap as a virtual business card. It allows you to share your business profile and important information quickly. This high-tech solution makes exchanging your contact information not only fast and easy, but also makes you look cool!

To get started hold your SmarTap Tag on the back of your phone to activate it and link it to your account. Your tag will store your details and it is ready to share. The best thing is other people don’t need the app to get your info. You can also add your friends on SmarTap and keep tracking their profile. You will also get rewards on the app. SmarTap is completely secure. No passwords are ever needed to link your social accounts with the app. It uses only usernames to add accounts. Connecting with friends and business associates has never been easier.

How it Works

1) Get SmarTap: Purchase the SmarTap NFC tag, a small adhesive device designed to attach securely to the back of your smartphone.

2) Install the App: Download and install the SmarTap app from the play store and app store compatible with your smartphone’s operating system (iOS or Android).

3) Create Your Profile: Open the app and create your profile by entering your contact information, social media handles, blog URLs, and any other details you want to share.

4) Write Data to the NFC Tag: Using the app, write your profile data onto the NFC tag. This step encodes your information onto the tag so that it can be easily shared with others.

5) Activate NFC: Ensure that NFC is enabled on your smartphone. Most smartphones have NFC settings that you can toggle on or off.

6) Share with a Tap: When you meet someone you want to share your information with, simply tap the SmarTap -enabled area of your phone (where the NFC tag is attached) against their NFC-enabled device (such as their smartphone). Make sure both devices are in close proximity.

7) Automatic Information Exchange: The NFC technology establishes a connection between the two devices in an instant. Your SmarTap tag transmits your profile data to the other device, and the SmarTap app on their end processes the received information.

8) View and Save Information: On the recipient’s device, the SmarTap app displays the information you’ve shared, which may include your contact details, social media links, and more. They can choose to save this information directly to their contacts or use it as needed.

9) Seamless and Quick: The entire process is fast and seamless, taking just a tap to exchange information that could have taken multiple steps otherwise.

10) Update Your Information: If your details change or you want to update the information you’re sharing, you can easily edit your profile within the SmarTap app and rewrite the updated data onto the NFC tag.

Process & Results

1) NFC Tag Integration: The first step involves integrating NFC (Near Field Communication) technology into the SmarTap app. This technology allows devices to communicate when they are in close proximity, typically by touching or bringing them very close together. The app’s development team works on ensuring that the app can read and write data to NFC tags.

2) User Profile Creation: Users need to create a profile within the app. This includes inputting their contact information, social media profiles, blogs, and any other relevant details they want to share. The app might offer customization options, such as selecting which pieces of information to include and designating a profile picture.

3) Data Formatting: The user’s profile data is formatted into a digital package that can be easily stored on the NFC tag. This package may be encoded in a specific format that the app understands, ensuring efficient and accurate data transfer between devices.

4) Tag Writing: Once the user’s profile information is prepared, the app writes this data onto the NFC tag. This process ensures that the tag holds the user’s details in a way that can be read by other devices.

5) Testing and Validation: The development team tests the app with various NFC-enabled devices to ensure that the tag can be read and the data transferred accurately. This phase may involve debugging and refining the app’s behavior to ensure a seamless experience.

Results:

1) Easy Information Sharing: With ConnecTap, users can share their contact information and other relevant details with others quickly and effortlessly. Instead of manually exchanging phone numbers, social media handles, or blog URLs, a simple tap of devices allows the information to be shared.

2) Efficient Networking: The app enhances networking by streamlining the process of connecting with new people. In professional settings, conferences, or social gatherings, users can rapidly exchange information, making it easier to stay in touch and foster new connections.

3) Reduced Physical Business Cards: ConnecTap reduces the need for traditional physical business cards. Users no longer have to carry stacks of cards or worry about running out of them at events. The digital sharing approach is eco-friendly and reduces paper waste

4) Personal Branding: Users have the flexibility to customize the information they share, enabling effective personal branding. Whether they want to focus on their professional profiles, social media presence, or personal blogs, ConnecTap allows them to curate their digital identity.

5) Tech-Savvy Image: Utilizing NFC technology gives users a tech-savvy image. It demonstrates a willingness to adopt and adapt to modern solutions for everyday challenges, which can positively influence others’ perceptions.

6) User Analytics (Potential): Depending on the app’s design, it might offer insights into how frequently their profiles are accessed by others. This could be valuable for users who want to gauge the impact of their shared information.

Technology Used:
1) Frontend:XML for designing the layouts also for UI purposes. Java is used for the app functionality.
2) Backend:- Node JS for api development and for database MySQL.
